Welcome back friends! We’re delighted to give you the 50th episode of the festivalPass Stories Podcast. This week, we have the pleasure of introducing one of the board members of Corks, Forks, Rhythm & Brews Festival, Kristen Thorson.

Kristen got involved with Corks Forks after her husband volunteered her to join the team a few years ago, and she’s considered it her side hustle ever since. As a South Dakota State University graduate with a B.S. in Food and Nutrition Science, Kristen works full time in health care, is on the Board of Directors of the Alameda Boys and Girls Club, and still finds time to be an integral part in organizing one of the biggest events in Northern California.

The Bay Area is world renowned as one of the hubs of advanced tech, but it’s also appreciated for its beautiful scenery and wine production; making it the perfect setting for delicious spirits and good music. Corks, Forks, Rhythm & Brews is the ultimate festival, delivering an all-around feel good experience to sponsors, volunteers, and attendees of course. The event plays host to over a dozen local eateries; the same goes for their wine, beer, and spirit exhibitors. If you’re a wine enthusiast, Alameda’s Spirit Alley is where you want to be in early October.

The slogan, “Eat. Drink. Give Back,” is truly what Corks Forks is all about; and what attracted Kristen to the event. Throughout her life, Kristen has given so much of herself to good causes, and Corks Forks is a fundraiser for the youth of the Alameda Boys & Girls Club. The Boys & Girls Club is an organization that has been a crucial gear in communities around the country, putting children on pathways to success. The proceeds from the festival goes back to the neighborhood, making a good time at the event that much more enjoyable.

In this episode you'll get the inside scoop from Kristen on Corks, Forks, Rhythm & Brews Festival, happening on October 2nd. Get your VIP tickets ASAP, dig in to the best food on the West, sip some wine, and be entertained by

“The Mother of All Dad Bands,” The Love Handles…you don’t want to miss it. “For being such a young event, we have amazing potential to grow. We market it as the affluent event. But it’s not a pretentious event. It’s super chill and super fun to attend…it is something special.” - Kristen Thorson
